The "7 Year Rule" is a Myth
The old rule that one dog year equals seven human years is not very accurate. Dogs mature much faster in their first two years, and larger breeds tend to age faster than smaller breeds later in life.
- Small Dogs: Live longest. At age 10, they are ~56 in human years.
- Giant Dogs: Age fastest after maturity. At age 10, they are ~78 in human years.
