Grade Calculation Methods
Weighted Average
In a weighted system, categories are worth a specific percentage (e.g., Homework 20%, Tests 50%). To calculate:
- Multiply each grade by its percentage weight.
- Add up these totals to get your final percentage.
Points System
In a points-based system, every point is worth the same amount. To calculate:
- Add up all points you earned.
- Add up all possible max points.
- Divide Total Earned by Total Max and multiply by 100.
Grading Scale
Typical letter grade scale:
- A: 90% - 100%
- B: 80% - 89.9%
- C: 70% - 79.9%
- D: 60% - 69.9%
- F: Below 60%
