What is TDEE?
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is an estimation of how many calories you burn per day when exercise is taken into account.
How it's Calculated
First, we calculate your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate), which is the energy burned at rest. Then, we multiply BMR by an activity factor.
Formulas
- Mifflin-St Jeor: The most common formula, based on age, height, and weight.
- Katch-McArdle: Considered more accurate for lean individuals as it accounts for body fat percentage.
