Molarity Formula

Molarity (M) is the concentration of a solution expressed as the number of moles of solute per liter of solution.

$$ M = \frac{\text{moles solute}}{\text{Liters solution}} $$

Since moles = mass / molar mass, the full formula is:

$$ M = \frac{\text{mass (g)}}{\text{molar mass (g/mol)} \times \text{Volume (L)}} $$
